This was a unique challenge with needing to create a large “exhibit” to bring into the Science Centre on the day of the shoot, there was very little prep time, so small movable objects needed to be designed and created for ease of transport, while taking up significant floor space, and allowing the film crew to shoot through.

With some reference note from the PD, Mel was given some free reign to come up with a solution. Inspired by the Colour Wheel sitting behind the PD’s desk, this temporary art installation was designed.

Due to the amount of dust in the studio space, all departments agreed to hand over the tube wrapping to the Art Department.

Mel created the light tubes by wrapping Lighting Gels with various densities and colours (Provided by the Electrics) as well as a layer of diffusion added at the request of the DP.
